The PEDC Revenue Generation Subcommittee
WE have formed a new subcommittee to brainstorm ways to generate revenue for the town in the next 5 years. .
The primary objective of the subcommittee is to gather data and come up with recommendations on what things the town can do to create revenue streams by picking that "low hanging fruit" of opportunities that can be capitalized on in the short term (1-5 years).
The Chair of the Revenue Generation Subcommittee ((RGSC) is Ray Berberick.
Contact Ray if you desire to participate. You don't have to be a PEDC member to join the effort.

Please tell the Portsmouth Economic Development Committee (PEDC) your ideas on how the town could raise revenue over the next five years. This is a short term project. There are other mid and long term efforts underway.
Please keep in mind the ideas should not raise taxes, nor create new user fees, nor necessarily build new residences.
The PEDC will use the principles of “Smart Growth” and use the best ideas to prepare a list of actionable steps that will generate new revenue for the town.
Some examples of the ideas already submitted to the PEDC are:
- Market and promote the land that is already available for commercial development.
- Investigate the potential of a second wind turbine generator.
- Explore the possibility of sports and art complexes and a banquet facility.
- Examine the potential of a corporate sponsor for the Portsmouth Multi-Purpose Senior Center.
