WIND TURBINE PROJECT CONTINUES ON SCHEDULE WITH INSTALLATION OF ROCK ANCHORS - WEEK OF JULY 21, 2008

This was critical week in the project in that the main rock anchors for the foundation were installed. The week started with the pouring a leveling slab to provide a level platform. The rock anchors were then installed in a 20 foot circle. They were installed with PVC sleeves that allow the anchors to bond to the rock below while allowing for later "stretch" of the anchors when the turbine tower is installed and the bolts are tensioned. You'll also notice a few of the cypress trees missing at the far end of the basketball court. This is where the access road for large equipment access (and, eventually, for the trucks transporting the turbine, tower and blades) will be. See some pictures below.
