ROCK ANCHORS ARE POST-TENSIONED - Week of September 8, 2008

The 55 foot anchors that go into the rock below the hill were post-tensioned. This means that the rock achors were "stretched" about a half inch (as expected) with a 480.000 pull load to test their ability to handle the load of the turbine generator tower, when installed. All the data was satisfactory and forwarded to the foundation engineer for review. Next week work will continue on preparing the access road and staging areas.
